Dr Annabel Barton

Dr Annabel Barton is a General Paediatrician with a wide range of clinical interests including neurodevelopmental disorders, the care of ex premature infants, indigenous health, acute medicine and is passionate about health equity and rural and remote health care. Annabel holds an appointment as a General Paediatrician at Royal Darwin Hospital and is in Melbourne for 6 months for her partner’s work. Annabel is covering Dr Alice Donnan’s clinic whilst she is on leave.

Annabel completed her Doctor of Medicine and Bachelor of Medical Studies degrees at UNSW and graduated in 2014. Annabel completed her General Paediatric training at several training sites across Melbourne, Sydney and Darwin and achieved her General Paediatric Fellowship in 2024. She completed several years of her training in Neonatology and Perinatology and maintains a special interest in the care of premature and unwell neonates and their neurodevelopmental outcomes.  

Outside of work Annabel is a mother to two young children aged 5 and 2 and loves spending time together as a family.
