Dan is a general paediatrician with almost 10 years of experience working in the field of paediatrics. He specialises in acute and chronic medical conditions from birth to 18 years, with particular interests in neonatal (newborn) medicine, follow-up of ex-premature babies, unsettled babies, and other common childhood medical conditions such as asthma, constipation and issues with growth and development. Dan combines private practice with a public appointment at The Werribee Mercy Hospital within their newly formed paediatric department.
Dan completed his undergraduate medical degree at The University of Melbourne in 2008, whilst simultaneously obtaining a Bachelor of Arts with a major in History and Philosophy. He trained as a paediatric physician through The Royal Children’s Hospital, but has also spent time working, training and teaching remotely in the Northern Territory, and overseas in The Solomon Islands. Dan has an interest in paediatric ethics, having completed a Masters of Bioethics at Monash University and is a current member of The Royal Children’s Hospital Clinical Ethics Response Group.
Dan enjoys finding practical medical solutions tailored to the specific needs of the child and family. Outside of work, Dan enjoys spending time with his young family and pursuing his interests, including surfing and the great outdoors.
