CPMG is pleased to welcome Kids Travel Doc, run by our very own paediatrician, Dr Shidan Tosif.
Kids Travel Doc is a specialist travel clinic for Children, with expertise in BCG (Bacillus Calmette-Guerin) and other vaccines.
How to make an appointment
Appointments for the travel clinic cannot be made without a valid referral for each patient. A referral can be obtained from a GP or Specialist. Please ensure it is addressed to Dr Shidan Tosif.
Step 1: All appointments are made online through the Kids Travel Doc online portal. Please visit www.kidsdoc.au and select the Book Now button.
Step 2: Once you have registered with the Kids Travel Doc online portal and booked your appointment time, you will be sent an email welcoming you to the client portal. This email will outline the next steps you need to take in preparation for your upcoming appointment.
Step 3: All referrals need to be emailed at least 48 hours prior to your appointment. You can either reply to the email you receive welcoming you to the client portal, or send it through to hello@kidsdoc.au
Fees
A booking fee of $30 per family member is applicable to secure the appointment. Payment will be taken when you book through the online booking portal. The usual cost for a consultation is $280.00 (out of pocket cost us $143 following $137 rebate back from Medicare). This includes the doctors' consultation, nurse and BCG fees.
If additional siblings need an appointment they will be bulk billed for the consultation with a valid referral.
Mantoux Test (Skin Test or TST)
If your child has travelled overseas before, or had contact with someone with tuberculosis, a Mantoux test may be needed prior to the BCG vaccination
Travel Vaccines
For travel vaccines to be most effective, they need to be administered 4-6 weeks prior to departure. Depending on the countries being travelled to, when and for how long, additional immunisations may be required to protect you and your family from becoming ill. Our clinic not only provides vaccines for tuberculosis (BCG), we also provide vaccines for seasonal influenza, typhoid, hepatitis A, yellow fever, and meningococcal.
If additional vaccines are recommended these will need to be purchased at CPMG but will be administered by the nurse at no extra cost. If routine vaccines (National Immunisation Schedule) are required, these will be provided at no additional cost.
Should you have any additional questions, please refer to the Kids Travel Doc 'Frequently Asked Questions' page.
