Jeff Kao is a Paediatric Endocrinologist who specialises in the care of children and adolescents with hormone-related diseases, such as thyroid dysfunction, adrenal, pituitary, growth, pubertal disorders, and bone health issues.
Background and Experience
Jeff completed his training in Paediatric Endocrinology at Monash Children’s and Royal Children’s Hospitals from 2012 to 2016. He qualified as a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in Paediatric Endocrinology in 2015. He also completed a clinical research fellowship at the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow, Scotland focusing on the endocrine aspects of children with chronic diseases, before undertaking an 18-month post-fellowship training at the British Columbia’s Children’s Hospital in Vancouver, Canada. He is the medical lead for the RCH Type 2 Diabetes clinic.
Research Interests
Jeff is experienced in clinical and basic science research, as well as educating junior medical staff and medical students. He is a graduate of the University of Melbourne’s Doctor of Medical Sciences degree. Jeff has academic interests in the endocrine aspects of patients with chronic diseases and quality of care in youth with diabetes and continues to be actively involved with clinical research.
